8½ ( Otto e Mezzo) : It's all about esthetics!

There is no doubt that Federico Fellini's movies are masterpieces, but another thing that caughts your eye is the elegant wardrobe made especially for this movie. The costume designer and also the one who created the set designs is none other than Piero Gherardi. The movie won two Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film and Best Costume Design.Eventhough the main character is a male actor, the always handsome and elegant Marcello Matroianni, it's more than obvious that the women in this movie steal the show. There are women of all sizes, ages and shapes, all dressed exactly as their personalities. What I would really love to know is who  the make-up artist was !

The dance scene below was later recreated by Uma Thurman and John Travolta for Tarantino's movie Pulp Fiction (1994).

It's really unfair not to show all the photos of Claudia Cardinale from the same scene, but from different angles!

One of my favorite parts of the movie was this dialogue between the characters of Claudia Cardinale and Marcello Mastroianni.Maybe when you don't know how to love, you just make up reasons not to be with someone who does care for you.
